Enterprise Threat Shield now includes detection of BitTorrents, a widely used method of downloading audio and video files. Additional enhancements include visibility into spyware, IM, and P2P subcategories; as well as an improved user interface. SurfControl Web Filter 5.5 Service Pack 2 extends signature based protocol monitoring and blocking for P2P and instant messaging applications to Web Filter for ISA. Additionally, Web Filter for Citrix can be installed on Microsoft Terminal Server Edition and Web Filter for Windows can run on virtual servers that use VMWare.

Web Filter extends security beyond URL filtering by allowing you to regulate what users can do over the Internet. Creating your own categories and threat definitions lets you enforce policies tailored to your organization’s unique business needs, user profiles, and industry-specific risks.
